About Beautiful Spaces
| Art is an ever
evolving process of imagination, blending artistic
talents with the therapy inherent in working with color. |
Beautiful Spaces began many years ago with Sally Rutledge and a friend
in Canada, under the name "Off the Wall". Over
the years Sally has painted her way
through many homes, businesses, and healing spaces. She
continues to travel to complete commissions; most recently for a
spa resort in Mexico.
Patrons of the arts honor and support this work.
Commissions are priced individually . Paints are waterbased,
very low toxicity, and walls are washable and very durable.
About Sally Rutledge
Sally Rutledge, born 1946, grew up in the midwest US;
Kalamazoo, Michigan to be exact. She pursued all the various
arts, but even in these early years, watercolor was her favorite
medium. In her late teens and early adult life Sally's
university studies centered around training in the classical
arts and she began exhibiting seriously at this time. Living in
different areas from the East and West coasts to Guatemala added
unique qualities to her palate.
For many years Sally devoted much of her time and energy to
parenting. Within this task came the study, and many years of
Waldorf teaching - based on Anthroposophy, a spiritual science
of Austrian philosopher Rudolf Steiner. This led to Goethe's
theory of color where new spiritual meaning entered the art of
painting.
Sally lived on the west coast of British Columbia, Canada for
ten years. Here the moist, soft light (akin to Turner's beloved
England) allowed new colors to emerge and work on paper - and
now murals, and the walls of complete rooms. "Beautiful
Spaces" was born and Magenta Art School, where the study of
color continues, now also in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Art is an ever evolving process of imagination where Sally
blends the artistic talents she has cultivated with the therapy
inherent in working with color.
